What to Expect When the Next Cohort Begins
Once orientation starts, you’ll move through a supportive training and action pathway designed to help you build confidence and skills as an advocate.
New Advocate Orientation
- Learn who RESULTS is, what we fight for, and how advocacy works
- Take your first action alongside other new advocates
- Receive our New Advocate Action Plan and Starter Pack to guide your next steps
New Advocate Training & Action Series
After orientation, you’ll attend three training & action meetings led by RESULTS staff.
Each training is offered multiple times, so you can join when it works for your schedule.
- Training #1: Write Powerfully in the Media
- Training #2: Build Relationships with Congress
- Training #3: Connecting the Pieces: Advocacy & Organizing
What Comes Next
After completing the training series, you’ll be introduced to a local RESULTS group and supported in taking your advocacy to the next level.

RESULTS is a grassroots advocacy network working with the U.S. Congress. Volunteering is open to people who are based in the United States and the age of 18 and older.
In the New Advocate Incubator, you will:
- Attend three interactive training and action sessions led by RESULTS staff
- Learn to speak powerfully about solutions to poverty
- Build skills and confidence in speaking to Congress, writing powerful media, and mobilizing your community
- Take meaningful actions as part of our national campaigns
- Connect with new advocates from across the country
